We have never deserved Gardenscape more than we do right now! Prairieland is pleased to announce that the 32nd annual Saskatchewan Blue Cross Gardenscape Backyard Living Show will take place March 25-27, 2022, kick-starting spring in Saskatoon and officially putting an end to winter.
For three days at the end of March, the World Trade Center Saskatoon at Prairieland will transform into a paradise bursting with vibrant blooms, and deliver a program comprised of diverse learning opportunities, family-friendly entertainment, delicious food and beverages and a trade show with something for backyard and garden enthusiasts of every level.
“The hobby of gardening became very popular during the pandemic,” says Prairieland Special Events Manager Susan Kuzma. “We’re expecting a lot of new patrons this year as they’re eagerly looking for information to continue the process of learning,” she continues.
This year’s line-up of presentations won’t disappoint as they touch on a number of developing trends from the last two years. Expect to find advice on eco-friendly horticulture, container gardening, outdoor tropicals, growing cannabis at home and attracting pollinators to your backyard living space, just to name a few. Information sessions take place at the Speakers’ Theatre in Hall C, and the How-To Stage and Gardening 101 by the University of Saskatchewan’s Master Gardener Program in the Main Trade Hall.
Buying local is easy at the Gardenscape Trade Show & Market Place where greenthumb shoppers can hunt for décor, plants, products, equipment, furnishings, backyard services, and more! Take in the popular GardenScapes Art Show & Sale or catch one of many daily appearances of the SuperDogs™ Show N’ Tell sponsored by Global Saskatoon. Take a break to enjoy delicious homemade berry goodness and feature desserts at the Prairie Berry Cafe or check out the new menu at the Bistro & Lounge. The Saskatchewan Blue Cross Gardenscape is a “sip and stroll” event so you can take your beer, wine or cocktail with you as you browse.
The floral displays and Feature Gardens throughout the venue will inspire your creativity! All plant materials used to decorate the show and display gardens will be up for sale or auction starting at 6:00 pm on Sunday, March 27 in the Main Trade Hall. A wonderful opportunity for growers to start their gardening season with hearty shrubs, bulbs and indoor plants!
